Our Commitment to Cyber Security Month

Man looking at mobile phone to illustrate cybersecurity awareness
September 30, 2016

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). Each year, this month serves as a reminder of the importance of online security to protect personal information and combat cyber threats. While cyber security is a top priority every month, this October will feature additional, targeted awareness campaigns and educational resources to help everyone stay cybersafe

The National Cyber Security Alliance and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) launched NCSAM in 2004 as a way to engage and educate all Americans on how to safely navigate cyber threats. Since 2009, DHS has used the theme “Our Shared Responsibility” to reflect our interconnected roles in cyber security. CyberSafe at USPS™ aims to continue this tradition by increasing understanding and awareness of cyber security best practices and the role we can all play in helping to protect ourselves and USPS against these threats.
